History of Loretto Memorial Chapel
Terry & Alice Riddle, owners, along with Rex & Terri Lynn Hooper, purchased and incorporated the Loretto Memorial Chapel on October 27, 1994. Janie Riddle Daugherty, Terry & Alice's daughter, attended and graduated from John A. Gupton Mortuary College in 1996. Janie's daughter Ashley, following in the footsteps of her Mother and Grandfather, Terry, also graduated and received her Associates Degree in
Mortuary Science from John A. Gupton Mortuary College in Nashville, Tn.

We are the only family owned & operated Funeral Home in Loretto, TN. Our Grandfather once said, “The only thing we ever really own is our character”. Here at Loretto Memorial Chapel we strive to make each Service as dignified, personal and affordable as we can, to meet each family’s needs. Satisfaction is our number 1 goal. Not to place our families in financial hardship but to ease the burden in their time of need. We have funeral services to fit any budget and offer many financial plans to accommodate them during this difficult time.

Here at Loretto Memorial Chapel we know how important family is to our Community.  We realize each family has their own unique needs, which is why we have Funeral Directors ready, regardless of the day or hour, to respond immediately when a loved one passes away.

We take very serious, the trust that the families put in us at such a difficult time. They are faced with making many tough decisions in a very short period of time and need to feel confident that we are putting their best interest first. Whether you prefer a traditional style funeral or if you would like a non traditional ceremony, you can personalize the final arrangements and we will help you prepare in many ways which include preparation, visitation, and merchandise. The final purpose of our mission is to give extraordinary value to our families, to provide dignified care for the deceased and to facilitate a meaningful service.

Our Staff will also arrange the floral arrangements for visitation, funeral ceremonies at the church, chapel or grave side. We also encourage the families to bring in photographs & other memorabilia to further personalize the service of their loved one. We can also provide a memory video for use during visitation and funeral service. We will be glad to record a cassette for you and your family to keep.
